| Housing Specialist | Leased Housing Dept.: Under general supervision perform administrative work in determining eligibility of Section 8 applicants along with continuing eligibility of Section 8 recipients. Work includes calculating rent payments. Work also includes interviewing tenants to gather information regarding income, employment status, family composition, and allowable deductions; verifying the information; and determining tenants continued eligibility for authority housing. Considerable attention to detail must be exercised in the verification of information submitted by tenants. Tact and courtesy are required in extensive public contact with program applicants and associated outside agencies. Must maintain a valid North Carolina driver’s license. | Maintenance Mechanic III (Work Orders) | Maintenance Dept.: Complete general maintenance duties in the areas of: carpentry, plumbing, appliance repairs, electrical, and HVAC. Responsible for cleaning up and fitting of vacant units to include, but not limited to the following: removal of debris from units, application of ceiling texture, scrubbing and waxing of floors, and general cleaning of the entire unit. Requires the application of journeyman level skills in several trades, particularly of the mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical variety. Canvas property and generate work orders as needed including preventive maintenance work orders. Employee is expected to apply independent judgment and skills in determining and affecting the necessary repairs and adjustments.Must have CPO and Universal CFC certifications.
